Nitrenes - Organic Chemistry

(1) The nitrogen analogous of carbenes are termed as nitrenes.

(2) There is probability of two spin structure for nitrenes depending upon whether the two non-bonding electrons (the normal nitrogen lone pair remains paired) comprise their spins paired or parallel.

(3) generally nitrenes obey Hunds rule and the ground state triplet along with two degenerate sp-orbitals containing a single electron each.
