The goal of this assignment is to provide an exposure to Network and System Administration issues. For the project, you are required to design/configure/implement/test/review a Network and/or System Administration issue and write a small report. In case if your project does not involve any implementation, the report should provide an in-depth analysis of the topic based on the research you did, possibly with a case study.

Possible Project Topics:

  1. Patching the kernel pack
  2. Measuring performance
  3. Network trouble shooting
  4. Design and implement a Linux based mail server with smart "spam" filtering
  5. Challenges in Wireless Network management
  6. Developing client network programs
  7. Design and implement a Linux based secure Apache web server.
  8. Design and implement a Linux based standalone gateway/router
  9. Design and implement a Linux based DNS server
  10. Design and implement a Linux based domain controller (Samba server)
