Market segmentation analysis for an organization, finance, Other Engineering
1. Briefly explain how to conduct a market segmentation analysis for an organization.
There are a number of ways by which the market segmentation analysis of an organization can be done and some of them are:
i. Geographic segmentation: Here the market is segmented as per the natural geographic limitations like for example for the manufacturing of yachts, a company might decide to open its workshop in a certain coastal region so that the manufacturing and shipping costs which come with the transportation of yachts can be curtailed.
ii. Customer Demographics Segmentation: This kind of segmentation is made keeping in mind the kind of product which the consumer needs, As consumers can be of different ages as well as different tastes, specific markets addressing specific kinds of consumers is greatly employed by organizations.
iii. Purchase Method Segmentation: In this the purchasing method of the consumers is taken into account and serves as a great way of refining a huge market into a segment which can be dominated by an organization.
iv. Product Type Segmentation: In this, products which can vary as per their usage are taken as specific segments, according to which an organization can target each specific product and dominate in that area.
