Information engineering is a system  engineering approach which is used to describe architectures which enable a business to use data professionally. The intent of information engineering is to get comprehensive data application architecture, architectures and a technology infrastructure which will meet the requirement of the business strategy and the goals and objective of every business area.   Information engineering encompasses information strategy planning analysis application specific, business field analysis which is really element of software engineering.
