Hydraulic actuator design matrix, Applied Statistics

The range of actuator design parameters have been provisionally assessed and are presented in Table (3). You are required to determine the following parameters:

  • The circumferential stress and strain on the outside layer
  • The circumferential stress and strain on the inside layer
  • The longitudinal stress
  • The change in the inner diameter
  • The change in the outside diameter

Your design tasks are:

(i) Prepare a suitable hand-written matrix based on an Excel Worksheet as a planning guide to show the cell locations of all the formulae you consider necessary to determine the specified design parameters.

(ii) Using the planning information from (i) and the associated Design Data presented in Table (3), develop an Excel Worksheet capable of determining the design parameters within the specified ranges and test as appropriate to show all intermediate calculations and associated worksheet OUTPUT DATA.
