FIBER OPTIC EXTENSION:

 The LAN extension using fiber optic is given in the figure below:

The fiber-modem translates digital data into pulses of light then transfer over the optical fiber. It also accepts light and translates into digital data.

This function will successfully extend the optical fiber across various kilometers because delays on optical fiber are minimum and bandwidth is maximum.
