Explain markers of disease progression, Advanced Statistics

Markers of disease progression: Quantities which form a general monotonic series throughout the course of the disease and assist with its modelling. In uasual such quantities are highly prognostic in predicting and analysing the future course. An instance is CD4 cell count (cells per μl), which is usually accepted as best marker of the HIV disease progression.
