Q. Explain Essay method of appraisal?

Essay method: in the essay method, the ratter must describe the employee within a number of broad categories such as:

a. The ratter's overall impression of the employee's performance.

b. The promo ability of the employee.

c. The jobs that the employee is now able or qualified to perform.

d. The strength and weaknesses of the employee and the training and the development assistance required by the employee. Although this method may be used independently it is most frequently found in the combination with others. It is extremely useful in filling information gaps about the employee that often occur in the better structured checklist method.
