(a) An engine uses 6.5 Kg of oil per hr of a calorific value 30,000 kJ / kg. If the B. P. of the engine is 22KW and mechanical efficiency 85%.

Calculate

(i) Brake thermal efficiency

(ii) Internal thermal efficiency

(iii) Specific Fuel consumption in Kg./ Bhp/ hr.

(b) A gas turbine plant with a pressure ratio of 1:5 takes in air at 150C. The maximum temperature is 6000C and develops 2200 KW. The turbine and compressor efficiencies are same to 0.85 take ep=1, ev=0.714. Evaluate the actual over all efficiency of the turbine. Mass of the air circulated by the turbine.
