Device Contexts:

The Device Context (DC) is represented by the data type Handle to Device Context (HDC). The HDC is a handle to somewhat you can draw on; it can be the whole screen, the whole window, the client region of a window, a bitmap stored in the memory or a printer. The client region is the region where drawing can be completed.
