Define the term scanning electron microscope.

Scanning electron microscope:

The scanning electron microscope (SEM) is a form of electron microscope which images the sample surface through scanning this with a high-energy beam of electrons into a raster scan pattern. The electrons interact along with the atoms which make up the sample producing signals which contain information regarding the sample's surface topography, composition and some other properties as like electrical conductivity.
