Cycloconverter  Scherbius Drive

In this  drive  instead of dual controlled used in link  scherbius  drive one  phase  controlled  line commutated cyclconverter is used. This  scheme is shown  in figure as in dc drive  the sub synchronous and  super synchronous speed control can be obtained in this scheme because  cycloconverter permits the slip  power flow in either direction. This  is constant torque drive  scheme  because the slip  power is either  returned to or taken  from the  supply mains.
