Q. Counselling for day to day Management?

As we know that diabetes is a chronic disease, a major part of its control requires counselling the patient and his family for day to day management of the disease.  Counselling in a diabetic patient is very important because once a patient is diagnosed with the disease, patients need to:

·  Understand the importance of a good sugar control and how the prescribed treatment will help  
·  have Psychological, social, and emotional support
·   be made aware of the future complications
·   be motivated to take good care of his health and diet
·  develop personal skills necessary for life style changes
·  be counseled about regular treatment
·  be counseled about regular follow up
