Q. Conceptual engineering phase?
During this phase, a conceptual engineering estimate will be prepared by Project Management with input from all disciplines.
Activities at this stage are primarily ‘Process Engineering' driven, with the other discipline providing support for process optimization purposes, leading to the development of the Design Basis Memorandum (DBM).
The deliverables for Mechanical Engineering normally include, but are not limited to, support for development of the following:
• Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) Input
• Plot plan
• Conceptual sketches
• Preliminary sizing and material selection
• Equipment layout sketches
• Conceptual studies
• Conceptual cost estimates
• Preliminary equipment list
