Classes and dotted decimal notation, Computer Networking

The relationship between dotted decimal notation and classes is shown as follows.

In class A the three octets managed to a host suffix.

In class B the last most two octets are the host octets.

Class C has only one octet to present the host.

The range of decimal numbers found in the first octet of each address class is shown below in the table.
