For planning and designing airport facilities, it is necessary to be conversant with the following important characteristics:

(a) speed

(b) size and dimensions

(c) weight, landing gear and tyre pressure

(d) turning radius

Figure may be referred.

Some of the characteristics are give in Table for some of the important aircraft types.
