AIR TRANSPORTATION:

Air transportation has grown rapidly all over the world and in India too. Its main advantages are speed, good safety record, military use, ability to serve remote areas and use in relief and rescue operations. Its disadvantages are high cost and high energy consumption. In India, several airlines, both public and private, operate the services. International flights touch several cities. There are many problems facing air transportation in India, such as need to modernize the airports, and upgrade the infrastructure. The Civil Engineer has an important role in building the modern airports and maintaining them.
