The  philosophy of  childcare, whether in the home, hospital, or  other community agency, should be consistently one of concern and support for the child and the parents. The beliefs about child care held by the members of both the health and the nursing teams should be clear and easily transmitted through behaviour and communication. The  following beliefs  form the basis of care for healthy, ill and dying children  today.
