Writing In The Age Of Distraction
Read all of the essays and then pick one you would prefer to write about. Your assignment has a body with four parts: First, summarize that essay over no more than a paragraph, then explain the idea(s) you found most interesting or useful within the essay. Next, discuss how this essay relates to your own writing experience previous to this course, whether in high school or your adult experience. Finally, discuss how the essay relates to not only that writing experience previous to this course, but your current experience in eng101.
This essay must be organized with an introductory paragraph that includes a thesis statement and plan of development, the main body of the essay that develops the above stated assignment, and a concluding paragraph. Your essay must be 1,000 words (no more than 1,250 words) and developed with specific ideas about yourself and the experiences connected from the essay you use. Please use MLA citation format and have a works cited page in the same document as your essay (if you have questions ask me).
Continuing from our citation practice and source blend assignments, we will be wading our toes back into citation for this assignment. Your paper needs to have at least three (3) quotes from the essay you chose with proper in-text citations and a works cited page. Your discussion of these quotes must exceed the quote in length.
Make sure your paper is titled, page numbers are inserted in the top right corner (lastname_pagenumber), and double spaced. Normal formatting rules apply.
