The Path Forward for Development in a Climate Change Future

Use what you've learned, as well as the article and videos linked below to answer one or both of the following.

• Essay 1: Do you think poor/ developing countries should continue to burn coal moving forward to continue fast economic development, even if it worsens the effects of climate change?

Your essay must include:
• Do you agree or disagree with Bjorn Lomborg's opinion?
• Respond to at least one story in "Years of Living Dangerously" to support your opinion.

• Essay 2: Do you think that series/documentaries such as "Before the Flood" and "Years of Living Dangerously" are effective ways to engage and motivate the public to support action on climate change?

Your essay must include:

  • Were these documentaries effective in tone and content?
  • In your opinion, was "Before the Flood" or "Years of Living Dangerously" more impactful in affecting your opinions about Climate Change? Why?
  • What were some of the most powerful examples raised in either documentary? You must include examples from both.
  • Do you think that there is a risk that either or both documentaries could make some people less motivated to support action on climate change? Discuss.
