Born in 1984 in Tijuana, Baja California; I am the second to the youngest of twelve: eight boys, and three girls. My mother went through a lot of arguments and struggles with my father in order for him to help her with the process of getting us our residencies so that we could move to California and begin and education there. By that time my entire family and I emigrated from Mexico to the USA to a town called Oxnard located in California.

The house where we arrived was located in a neighborhood called "La Colonia," this area in town was known to be where a lot of Hispanics arrived and lived before they moved on to a better area, the house had only two rooms and somehow we all managed to fit in there. My father was gone most of the time he would work all week long and be out with his friends drinking most weekends, when my older brothers began to work they would help my mother financially and that was a great relieve for my mother because that meant that my father would not have to take us back to Mexico something that my mother always wanted to avoid.

By this time my mother struggled to maintain her motivation into wanting to provide a better lifestyle for her family but she never gave up. My family and I lived in that little home for about three years because just as my mother struggled with my dad to help her with our residencies she knew he could get his family a better home since he would make a good enough income to get us a better home, I remember that parents would argue constantly regarding a new home to the point that one morning we all got in my father's truck to go look at homes, that was one of my happiest days as a child.

My family and I moved to this home with five rooms with a huge backyard and only a few miles away from the beach, at the time I felt that that home was the sweetest place in the entire world because we were all very happy and it gave my mother the opportunity to enroll my siblings and I into a much better school.
