Put yourself in the shoes of a plaintiff's lawyer. Find a current newspaper or magazine article that raises legal issues, and identify the parties in the article that may have legal claims. Assume that the person or entity in the article would like to file a lawsuit and has hired you for legal representation. (If there is already a pending lawsuit, please assume that there has not been a lawsuit filed yet.) Write a report summarizing the factual background. Then identify (1) the courts that would have jurisdiction over your claims, (2) your choice of venue and reasons for choosing the venue; (3) the relief you would request on behalf of your client; (4) all the possible claims you could bring; (5) any affirmative defenses you anticipate; (6) the damages you would claim; and (7) the types of discovery you need to prove your claims, rebut affirmative defenses and prove damages. For each of these items, please explain your reasoning. Finally, please discuss what type of payment arrangement you would require from your client. The written report should be 3-5 pages, citing to all references relied upon.
