A workplace safety trainer is contracted to teach companies’ employees how to avoid injuries and accidents. Initially, a new two hour course would require 32 hours for the trainer to develop. Each time it is held, the course is modified based on participant reactions. As a rule, for every doubling in the number of classes held, half as many hours of prior preparation time are required for the next session. If the trainer is contracted to teach eight sessions and values her time at $25 per hour, would a $4,000 fee cover her costs?
