Why is it important to perform a PESTEL Analysis? What are the benefits?

I am writing a paper and discussed the general environment briefly. I stated that examining the general environment is done through a PESTEL analysis. I made the heading of "PESTEL ANALYSIS" and proceeded with a subheading for "political." My professor marked that I need to transition into that, but I felt I stated everything in the general environment. Need some ideas on how to smoothly lead into the subheading. I would prefer to provide a brief paragraph describing the the benefits and overview of the pestel analysis. Any credible links would also be appreciated.
