Scenario/Summary In the United States, Google maintains its market share and seems well-positioned for continual rapid growth into the future. The company has dominated the search market, cornered the advertising space, and is well on its way toward winning Windows-like market share in the mobile space. However, it has run into several major problems with its international operations. A number of countries are finding more and more issues with Google. These include the European Union's claim of anticompetitiveness practices with Google's search services and China's politically based restrictions limiting accessibility. In this week's case study, you will be investigating the problems Google has faced in this area and what it did to attempt to deal with them. Two of the references given in this week's assignment will help get you started in your research and identify the problem(s) that Google faced. Your deliverable this week will be a completed case study (3 to 5 pages) submitted on the issues Google faced and what the response to them was Case Study Steps STEP 1: Research Issue In this step, you need to find out the questions "how" and "why" of Google's problems. Start with reading what has been written about it in your reading assignment this week-two of the references deal with Google's problems: "Growing Pains for Google" by Elizabet Montalbo"Google's Growing Pains" by Edward ConeUsing these as a start to give you an overview of the problems Google faced. These articles, along with others you will find in your research and on the Web, should allow you to answer the "how" and "why" of the situation Google faced and their actions in handling it. STEP 2: Write the Study Use the case study template to complete a 3-5 page report on your research. Include the sections listed below as needed. Introduction-a brief introduction to the company and its problem or situationIssue/Problems-identify all the issues or problems faced by the companyActions Taken-what was the company's response on dealing with the issues?Results-what were the results of the company's efforts? Did they work? Why or why not?References-list all research references usedDon't forget to proof and fact-check your case study. If you are using quotes from sources, or data from an unreliable source, you should attempt to find a better source, or remove them. This is sometimes called "establishing rigor." Make sure your case study is credible, transferable, verifiable, and dependable.
