Web Development and Design Final Project
Before you begin the project, please answer these four questions in a paragraph:
What is the difference between the client and the server?
What is the difference between server-side and client-side scritping? Why are they separate?
What is a web browser?
What is a regular expression?
Overview
The purpose of the project is to use most of the techniques you have learned from this course. You may choose any project as long as it meets the requirements discussed below.
The project must be a real application in the sense that the site must be hosted somewhere on the Internet. You can either arrange your own hosting or use WebHawks.
You are free to apply homework assignments toward the final project. However, the final project must be work that you have produced and not material simply copied from another source. If you do copy small portions from another source, you must cite the source and have permission to copy the material.
In this phase you will choose either Aircraft Solutions or Quality Web Design as the company you will work with. You will then identify potential security weaknesses
You need to improve the website for CSE Center for Health Information Technology to make it more functional and informational.
Visit a website readings that interests you. Review the home page or another pertinent page from the site. Write a summary that includes your reaction to the site. Address the following topics: What is the purpose of the site
Create a Web application test plan based on a real-life scenario involving a Web-based business which processes credit card information
Use the Web to research and evaluate security products from two competing vendors, such as antivirus software, firewalls, or antispyware software. For each product, describe its capabilities, for what types of businesses it is best suited
Who is the editor of the periodical or creator of the website? Are they an expert in the given field? What is the periodical or website's objective?
What are (HTML) metatags and why can they be controversial. What do we mean by hyper linking on the Web. Should proprietors of Web sites have a right to include on their sites links to other Web sites
What is the purpose of the CSS float style? (not explained well in class, will post a brief handout with a better explanation)
Search any topic from internet to stimulate your idea and creativity. You might identify the main problems that the user faced in their daily life or analyze the weaknesses of existing THE college SIS and COLLEGE learning systems.
Design and implement a web site for our Web Design and Programming unit and web site templatemust be ASP.NET MVC 4 Web Application in Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 using C#.
