DoingIt, Inc. is a service company that relies heavily on technology for a lot of its successful business ventures. Earlier this year, the company announced that it will be making large investments in technology to enable it penetrate more markets internationally. Recently, you were appointed as the Chair of company’s Information Technology (IT) Steering Committee. At DoingIt, Inc. this committee has responsibility for information technology strategic planning. As the Chair of this committee, you have been scheduled to make a presentation to the Senior Management Committee to discuss two topics. These are major tasks of the IT Steering Committee, and IT sourcing strategies.

Required:

a) Discuss the major tasks of the IT Steering Committee in the context of the direction the company announced it wants to take. What is a critical success factor for this committee? (Note: This is a two-part question. Be sure to answer both parts of the question)
