The Bank of Japan recently imposed negative interest rates while other countries have implemented the same monetary policy in the past (Farrell, 2016; Lewisohn, 2016). Assuming you are involved with Strategic Planning for a global firm with manufacturing operations in countries with negative interest rate policy, what recommendations would you make, if any, to capture the low/negative interest rate environment. What influence would negative interest rates have on bank depositors? Is there a Christian Worldview for such a monetary policy whereby depositors are paid a minuscule savings rate, or even charged a fee on their saving account?
