Background: Conducting fitness assessments are critical components of developing exercise prescriptions for clients. Before conducting fitness tests, we want to be sure that a client is physically able to complete all tests and if not, make appropriate modifications
. Instructions: To complete this Assignment, you will conduct health-related fitness assessments on yourself to determine your fitness level and identify areas for improvement. Complete all the fitness tests below. If you have limitations or are physically unable to complete a test, clearly outline why in the modifications/precautions sections. Answer all Assignment questions below after completing the tests.
Fitness Assessments
Aerobic Fitness: Choose either the Mile Walk Test (text pages 137-138) OR Jog/Run Test (text pages 140-141)
Muscular Endurance: Complete BOTH the push-up and curl-up tests (text pages 185-188) Optional tests for strength: 1MR (text page 184) and YMCA Bench Press Test (text pages 188- 189)
Flexibility: Complete the sit and reach test (text pages 208-211)
Body Composition: Complete BOTH body mass index calculation (pages 167-168) AND waist to-hip ratio calculation (text page 168)
OPTIONAL: complete other percent body fat testing protocols.
Part 1: Discuss Testing Protocols

• Do you have any issues or challenges that prevent you from conducting all the fitness tests? Do you need to modify any of the tests?

Part 3: Fitness Testing Results and Goals
• Discuss your fitness assessment results for all tests: aerobic, muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, and body composition. In your discussion, include your score (percentile) compared to others in your age group.
• Identify a goal for improvement for each fitness area (aerobic, muscular strength/endurance, BMI, and body composition).
