Global Village

Note: This week's Application Assignment has several steps and is closely connected to the Discussion assignment. Please make sure that you carefully review both assignments and pay particular attention to the sequence of the tasks. You are to complete the Application Assignment before the Discussion.

In the "Case Study: The Global Village" listed in this week's Resources, you are asked a series of questions related to social stratification and global inequality. Once you enter your response into the appropriate field on each page, you are given the research-based answer to each question. Were you surprised by any of the results? How does social stratification in the U.S. as you know it differ from the stratification of the Global Village? What does that say about global inequality?

In this Application Assignment, you will use your sociological imagination to think of another question pertaining to social stratification and global inequality that could be added to this case study. Then you will conduct research on your chosen topic to find an answer to your question.
