Hypertension has become one of the leading causes of deaths among developed nations especially in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence in the United States is 29% and increasing. Hypertension is defined by abnormally high blood pressure. To determine what systolic blood pressure is considered normal, researchers from the University of California, San Diego obtained systolic blood pressure from 121 healthy adults. They found that the mean systolic blood pressure was 144 mmHg with a standard deviation of 25 mmHg. Using a significance level of 0.05, test the claim from the World Health Organization that the population mean systolic blood pressure is equal to 140 mmHg. Assume the amounts are approximately normally distributed. What are the critical values you should use to test the given hypothesis?
