In humans, let's say that having a free earlobe is dominant to having an attached earlobe, and that hairline is an X-linked trait whereby a normal hairline is dominant over a widow's peak hairline. Two parents with free earlobes and normal hairlines have a son who has an attached earlobe and a widow's peak.
