The gene (cv) is recessive and is known to be 13.7 Map units from the beginning of the chromosome. The recessive gene (f) is 51.7 map units from the beginning of the chromosome. After doing all of the calculations i found my gene order to be we-cv-f. Gene (we) is the unknown gene which i mapped to be 17.2 map units from gene(cv). This puts the unknown gene off of the chromosome by 3.5 map units.
Why is this? What are some possible genetic explanations for this? Please assume all calculations are correct and when this experiment was performed around 400 fly's phenotypes were scored.
Develop a graphical representation of major evolutionary changes in invertebrates. Discuss the graphs as a class.
The absence of legs in mice has been attributed to a recessiveallele. A normal male is mated with a normal female and they produce a legless offspring. The same two parents are mated again. What is the chance of their next offspring being legless?
What are the disadvantages of obligate homeothermy, relative to the facultative homeothermy exhibited by many species of lizards and snakes?

What is the molarity of the drug in he Petri plates?
Do you think that using recombinant DNA technologies to change the genetic composition of human egg cell is ever justified? If so, what restrictions have to be placed on such a use.
If you increase or decrease the pH value in an experiment then what does that do to the optimum temperature at which the enzyme performs best? Does it change it or will it stay the same?
Asume you have isolated a novel transcription factor. How will you determine the genes regulated through transcription factor in the whole genome?
Suppose that an SBH experiment shows that all 4^(l) l-mers are present in the target DNA sequence. What is the minimum length of a target sequence consistent with this l-mer composition? & How many minimum length target sequences consistent with t..
A microscope that gives the total magnification of 1500X, however image is too blurry to be useful. What might be the problem with this microscope.
Explain why is agar typically used as a solidifying agent in microbiological media instead of gelatin? What could happen if gelatin was used?
Viruses use the host cell machinery to replicate. However, some viruses replicate their genomes by a mechanism that host cell cannot support.
