We build a warter filter box for Koi fish ponds using the vinyl ester resin. The box dimension at the base are: 36" L x 12" W x 16" D. We use 3 layers of filberglass chop strand mat ( itchy!!) 1.5oz/ sq ft. Make the box open- topped (no lid).

The amount of resin is equal to the weight of the cloth.

We have a special " green vinyl ester resin" un promoted. That means we need to add another subtance ( cobalt) to it in order for it to set up when the catalyst is added. This resin weighs 8.9 LBS/ gal.

To mix for a 30 minute gel time at 77 geg. you would multiply the weight of the resin by 0.048 oz to get the amount of colbat to add.
