One reality when searching for a job is that employers check your social media. You need to keep this in mind. I have heard of people not being hired because they did not have a social media presence. I totally disagree with that. In a case like that, I think the potential employer needs to address the concern with the applicant. Are they worried that the employee is somehow computer ignorant? Do they think they have something to hide? Personally, my first thought is that the applicant might very well have good sense and doesn't feel the need to broadcast their business to everyone.
