The Ruling Passion Forum

Aristotle, in his Ethics, argues that there are three possible ways to live your life...and each way of life accords with a "ruling passion" in our selves. The first is the passion for pleasure, the second is the passion for honor/fame, and the third is the passion for knowledge/wisdom. Since money is a good---but one that is instrumental---it is not really (for Aristotle) a "fourth way of life". Money is used to buy "something else."
