Problem- The equilibrium constant for triiodide formation from iodide and iodide is about 700. The extinction coefficients of iodine and triiodide at the absorption maximum of triiodide are about 16 and 25,000 respectively. Show mathematically that the absorption of iodine does not make a significant contribution to the absorption of the solution you prepared for Part A of Procedure (5 ml of 0.0001 M iodine + 10 ml of 0.5 M KI)

I want you to explicate the chemistry in this problem
