o Include what discipline or area of geography this article pertains to and why (Political, economic, physical geography etc),
o what the student's thoughts are on this article, and
o Include 2 points of information that he or she were not aware of before reading the article.
3. Works Cited Page and Citations
o Citations
• Proper MLA citations are required throughout the summary.
• If the idea is not an original thought in the students head then it needs to be cited.
o Works Cited
• A proper MLA style Works Cited page is also required.
The article must come from a reputable news website, paper or magazine. For instance: New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Houston Chronicle, USA Today, FoxNews, Texas Monthly are all acceptable sites/magazines.
The source of the article needs to have facts supporting the conclusions and not just opinions.
