Cyber stalking is the same as one ordinary defines stalking, with mere difference that such a stalking is done over internet. Cyber stalking is as much crime as is traditional stalking, but the problem with this case of stalking is the geographical base it can cover and the laws which haven’t been properly laid or are in the process of preparation and then there are also cases where police forces are unaware of such laws.

These all make it quite typical for a victim to make people consider their case and most of the time people consider them as having some psycho problem, which makes it more difficult for them to take themselves as not being at the guilt end. There are no specific laws for cyber stalking.

Every country has inserted a provision for the same in either the Crime Act which restricts stalking or to the Information Technology Acts. In Australia, the victims have remedy under Section 21A(2) and 21A(3) of Victoria's Crime Act, 1958, Section 34A of Crimes Amendment Act, 2000, Section 8 of Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007 and several other laws in different states.
