Exercise 1: Staffing Plan - Human Resource Forecast

Purpose of HR Plan

The purpose of the HRPlan is to make certain Abdulla Hosani Laundry Company has sufficient staff with the right skills and experience to undertake and accomplish the company's goals and objectives within the next three years.

The company intends to expand its business given the business buoyancy in Abu Dhabi, and anticipates that three (3) new laundry centers will be opened each year for the next three years in various parts of Abu Dhabi city.  In addition these new centers will be using new high tech machines which are more efficient, require less maintenance, and therefore, lesser number of technicians.The company is also looking into lowering the cost of its operations by reducing the number of employees needed.

 

Role Requirements

The following is a detailed breakdown of the roles required to execute the expansion strategic plan.It includes: the role (position) required, the responsibility of the roles and skills required. You need to decide which roles/positions that you will keep/modify/combine based on the case.  It is important that you provide justifications for these jobs.

Maintain general cleanliness of laundry center

Manage the overall operation of laundry center and ensure its revenue, cost and profit met targets

 Staffing Plan: Forecasting Human Resource Needs

Fill up the following table to show the number of staff required to fulfill the role for the next three years.  Currently, there are five (5) laundry stores and each store has seven (7) employees.  At the headquarters, there is a Finance Manager, an HR Manager, one Operations Manager, two admin assistants, and one Accounts Assistant.  You are to estimate the number of employees required for the next four years.  You must state the reasons for any change (+/-) in the number of employees for each job/positions that you made in each year.Be mindful that the company is also looking into lowering the cost of its operations by reducing the number of employees needed.
