1. Follow the template and complete the outline first
2. Follow the outline and write a paragraph

Please try to write your paragraph in an academic manner, using the third person and avoiding slang, clichés, and other non-standard errors.

Reading hints:

1) Silver Donald Cameron argues that all adults should learn how to function capably at a certain selection of everyday abilities in his short article, "The Many Forms of Literacy". He calls these "literacies", comparing the idea of competence with diverse concepts and tasks to the ability to read and write at a literate level. He considers these "literacies" as lifelong and life-wide.

In a similar manner, which abilities do you think are particularly important for international students?

Use a pattern of development that provides examples - that is a main example as the point and sub examples as supporting reasons- to promote your concepts of necessary literacies.

Some hints:

Write a full topic sentence and include the name and author of the reading (it is the source of your idea) - Do not just summarize the reading.

Use lettering or numbering structure that shows the hierarchy of ideas -
- Main ideas and then sub ideas (supporting reasons - 1 line each),
- details and explanations (W5 information - 2 lines) and
- specific examples (1 of your own and 1 from the reading, so 2 lines)
- Finish with a reworded version of the topic sentence
