A person lifts a 100 Newton dumbbell by pulling upward with his biceps. The biceps are attached to the arm bone 1.5 cm from the elbow. The 100 N weight is 30 cm from the elbow. The forearm has a weight of 40 N and a center mass of 14 cm from the elbow. Assume all the angles are square for this problem. How much force is required to lift the elbow and the forearm?
