Eric and Trayce Fowler own a home in Sturgis, SD and hire Mike, a professional house painter to paint the outside of their home in June. The agreement was that he would paint the home starting July 5 and be done by July 10. He agreed to paint the home for $7,500 and he would provide the materials and labor. He began the project on July 5 and finished on July 11. Mike sent the bill to the Fowlers for $7,500 on July 20 but the Fowlers failed to pay. If the Folwers do not pay, can Mike recover his fees? If so, how? Say the Fowlers only pay $4,000, can Mike get the remaining amount of what is owed? If so, how?
