In peas, a recessive trait causes the curling of leaves. A crossinvolving a plant with yellow pods and curling leaves wasmade to a wild-type plant with green pods and normal leaves. The F1plants were testcrossed and the following progeny obtained:

117 green pods, normal leaves
115 yellow pods, curling leaves
78 green pods, curling leaves
80 yellow pods normal leaves

a. what does the data suggest about the relationship between the two genes?

b. Use a χ2 test to determine ifyour conclusion is correct.
(include properly worded null and alternative hypotheses, yourdegrees of freedom, and your calculated and table valuesof χ2
