Comment on the relevance of Patton’s (2002) statements in relation to the area of project management.

“Reflexivity reminds the qualitative inquirer to observe herself or himself so as to be attentive to and conscious of the cultural, political, social, linguistic, and ideological origins of her or his own perspective and voice as well as – and often in contrast to – the perspectives and voices of those she or he observes and talks to during fieldwork.”

“The period after an interview or observation is a critical time of reflection and elaboration. It is a time of quality control to guarantee that the data obtained will be useful, reliable and authentic. This kind of post-interview ritual requires discipline. Interviewing and observing can be exhausting, so much so that is easy to forgo this time of reflection and elaboration, put it off, or neglect it altogether.”
