Campus authorities should do many things to reduce the incidents of binge drinking by college students. For example, on campus patrols should be constant throughout the nights making sure that no students are walking around drunk or driving drunk. Also, large, late night group activities should be checked out by these patrols. One issue that is caused by this is if the student is of legal drinking age because then there can be no punishment. In a case such as this, a rule such as if you live on campus you cannot bring alcohol onto the premises should be placed into affect to detour underage drinking. If you are of age though, you should be allowed to go to bars and have a good time, but if irresponsible you will reap the consequences of low or failing grades.
