Introduction to Building Services and Design

Task:

Following your calculations of the heat loss the architect has requested that you propose a heating system to cope with the heat loading of the building. Include your previously calculated losses of both Fabric and Ventilation.

Describe TWO different types of heating systems to be proposed for installation in this building.

Select one and justify your choice, give a full explanation of your reasoning. Keep in mind the cost of initial outlay, running costs, life of equipment and maintenance, feed in tariffs and any other assistance in heating system costs.

You have been provided with the site plan and your report should include fully referenced schematic diagrams of the proposed system, show location of heat emitters and associated plant and any connectivity, giving reasons for location.

The report must include full referencing and where possible manufacture's data to support your design.
