Task 1 - Properties and use of construction materials (LO1)

You have been asked by your managing director to put forward to present at a young professionals conference organised by the CIOB. You have to submit the following essay to the organisers for final selection.

A 1500 word limit to provide your opinion on one of the following statements:

1. Steel is by far the most suitable material to use for the structure of a building.

You are to provide your opinion on your chosen statement and provide evidence to substantiate it.

The work must be in an essay format, not a report. You must present the work correctly. There must be a combined reference/bibliography and use correct referencing and quotations when required.
