Imagine that you have been hired as the database administrator for a local department store. The department store has recently expanded by opening five (5) stores within your local region. They have also launched a series of marketing campaigns to attract new customers and increase sales. For your hired role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an enterprise-wide database system that will hold the sales and inventory data for the organization. The designed database will help operations in supporting its new business marketing strategy. Using the concepts presented throughout the course, you will develop a plan to create this database and establish a design that aligns with the product sales initiatives of the organization.
Write a twelve to fifteen (12-15) page paper in which you:

Create an entity-relationship diagram and design accompanying table layout using sound relational modeling practices and concepts.
First construct a Data Warehouse Bus Matrix to identify the company's business processes and any likely Data Marts and design the star schema for any Data Marts you have identified.
In physical database design, referential integrity constraints can be defined. What actions does referential integrity constraint prevent from happening when data is inserted in table which contains this constraint?
Create tables in 3NF. As you create the database, include different codes for at least three of the fields. Use sample data to populate fields for at least three records in each table.
Examine different sales transactions. Design a context diagram and a level-0 diagram that represent the selling system at the store.
Describe relationships with example. Also illustrate degree of relationship for that example. What do you mean by locks. Write dow a binary lock function.
At this point in the design process, you would have a detailed physical schema created for a database. How would you approach converting your schema into a database, complete with sample data? Explain your approach in two to three paragraphs.
Write a two page research paper on the Turing and von Neumann models.
What is the business implications that can be drawn from the process of building and comparing these models, and has this practice helped resolve the business issue? Why or why not?
Create a report which identifies five most expensive bicycles. The report must list bicycles in descending order from most expensive to lease expensive, the quantity on hand for each, and the markup percentage for each.
