Our constructs of reality are based on stories which we perceive as truth. These stories are our own perceptions, and people consider their perceptions as the only right ones. Therefore, organizational integration might be impacted when people perceive a given goal or people in the organization differently. It would mean the people in the organization might have divergent views which affects the focus and synchrony of the organization. Therefore, one’s own reality determines the success or failure of the OD intervention. Having one’s own reality same as the intended perception of the general organization would contribute to the success of the OD intervention, and vice versa.
How might we test that perception?
Choose a company and write about how change and development efforts will improve the company. Define the issues to be addressed in the company and use OD concepts and theories to provide solutions for the identified issues.
Are you able to see if an organization lacks "strategic direction"? Provide your rationale or an example. Does the visibility matter if you are within the organization or merely a consumer/customer?
